The Deep Learning Barcelona Symposium (DLBCN) aims at showcasing the research developed by scientists in/from Barcelona. That is, scientists who currently work in Barcelona or who pursued part of their academic career in Barcelona. This unique meeting gathers multidisciplinary researchers in the field of deep learning, and shows the potential of the city to become the AI hub in Southern Europe. The sixth edition of this symposium will be held on Thursday 19th of December 2024, at La Salle - Universitat Ramon Llull.
The presenters in the oral or poster sessions of the Deep Learning Barcelona Symposium must have developed part of their research career or academic studies in the city of Barcelona or its proximity, whether currently or in the past.
The call for speakers in the oral sessions aims at researchers who have published in top tier conferences or journals, preferably during 2024, and whose contributions are closely related to the theory or applications of deep neural networks. Talks may focus on one or multiple papers (focus on one paper is preferable). We provide, as a reference, the publication venues and h5-index from the works presented during the oral sessions in DLBCN 2023: NeurIPS, ICLR, CVPR, ACL, ICCV, EMNLP, Science, Interspeech, and ISMIR.
The call for posters invites researchers who have a peer reviewed publication during 2024, and whose contributions are closely related to the theory or applications of deep neural networks. The aim of the poster session is creating opportunities for discussion and networking between junior and senior researchers, both local or from overseas. Doctoral students are also encouraged to submit their work, even if unpublished.
The contents of the presentations should cover the contents of the referred publication(s), but presenters are also encouraged to include related posterior work and discuss future research directions.
The selection of the DLBCN Symposium speakers not only aims at high scientific quality, but also targets diversity from different perspectives, including gender, institutions and research groups, local and overseas speakers, research topics, and talks on previous editions of the symposium. As a consequence, and due to the limited time for oral presentations, it is possible that excellent scientific contributions may not not be included in the speaker’s program. In these cases, authors will be invited to present their work as a poster.
The program will be defined by the program committee, with the help of a representation of all organizing institutions. See the organizing committee here.
Submission deadline: October 18, 2024.
