The Wellcome Accelerator Award supports researchers of Black, Bangladeshi and Pakistani heritage in the UK to undertake activities that put them in a stronger position to reach their next career stage. The funding can be used for research or research-adjacent activities, such as training, secondments, and networking.
The Jacobs Foundation launched the 2025 Call for Proposals for LEVANTE, with targeted support for researchers from the Global South. The primary aim being to identify how individual variability, group heterogeneity, and contextual variability influence children’s learning and development.
They are giving special consideration to proposals that involve data collection or studies focused on underrepresented populations or regions—particularly in countries in the Global South, referring to low- and middle-income countries, particularly in Africa, Latin America, Asia, or the Middle East.

The Medical Research Council (MRC) Board and Panel Associates Scheme provides researchers the opportunity to gain valuable experience of expert review, serve on an MRC funding board or panel and receive mentorship as part of a two-year programme.
It is aimed at researchers from underrepresented groups who have established independence and have recently transitioned or have clear plans to transition into a leadership role.
