Hungarian pupils thought of a name for the mascot and created passport for it, dressed him up in national costumes. The Hungraian mascot is Jankó. Students chose objects that represent their traditions, culture and everyday life to put in a real time capsule. They explored what daily life was like for young people of their age living in their local area 100 years ago, and imagined what they might have placed in their time capsules. Jankó has been travelling in Europe. A pupil or a teacher from our school will be in charge of taking photos of the mascot and sights which will be visited. They write a diary of mascot's travel. We will share photos with mascot during special days. That activity will be convenient for explaining younger pupils different cultures and traditions and language. Jankó will teach some words in partners' languages. The mascot and the time capsules will help develop a shared cultural knowledge and emphasise the European dimension of our cultural heritage project.
