Respite Room of Treasures, 2026
In a world where safety feels like an illusion, this illusion is an invitation into a safe retreat. Societal expectations prevent us from creating, pausing, expressing, engaging, interacting, exploring, and robs us of our sense of self.
This place intends to suspend those demands and allow a place to disconnect and rest. This is your space for discovery and exploration. Let your curiosity lead you. It may not seem like much, but it is as much as you make of it.
I reflect on this piece and hope it provides you with true treasure, an opportunity to reconnect with yourself, through everyday objects, discovery and play.
About the Artist
My art is a four-walled, three-letter word with no ceiling. It creates a sense of comfort while inviting curiosity.
As a multidisciplinary artist, I build and transform spaces and forms using collections and everyday objects that are often overlooked or tossed away. This allows them to be rediscovered through the eyes of childlike wonder. Each piece is meant to feel familiar, like home, while encouraging viewers to explore their own internal spaces.
Guided by whimsy, I work with these objects to let the memories they hold step into the light once more, and the new ones created with the viewer to live on. As they coalesce in space there is freedom to connect and decide what they mean.
Whether to ponder, wonder, or simply pass it by, the intention is to invite, to include, to interact in some way, allowing you and the piece to decide if you remain the same.
