Between Worlds, 2026
Between Worlds is a character design project where I plan to create my own digital character as a
form of identity. These character design will be developed into a 3D small model, translating the
character from a 2D digital form into a physical object.
This project as I said is inspired as a form of identity for my social media and interest in
streaming and cartoon characters. I like how many people use characters to represent themselves
online, sometimes in ways that feel more expressive or comfortable than real life. My character
reflects that idea of having a digital version of yourself that exists in a different space but is still
connected to who you are.
I feel that through this space, I want to show how a character can move from a digital drawing
into a physical space. It also explores the idea of identity being between two worlds, our daily
life and our digital life and how our identity exists in both worlds.
About the Artist
My creative practice focuses on digital illustration and concept art that explores imagination,
identity, and digital culture. Through character design and visual storytelling, I can create a
world of fantasy that reflects emotions, personal ideas, and the influence of technology on how
we imagine stories and characters.
The themes that come to mind come from themes like animation, gaming, and internet culture. I
am interested in how fantasy can communicate real experiences and how the visual style of
entertainment can exist in this field which is contemporary art. My work is inspired by artists and
filmmakers such as Hayao Miyazaki, as well as popular manga artists like Akira Toriyama and
Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, where they create amazing storytelling and character designs that show
how visual narratives can build imaginative worlds and express deeper ideas.
I primarily create my work digitally through many 2D software such as procreate and clip studio
paint. My creative process involves sketching different characters with different faces, hair,
perspectives and refining details through digital tools. Recently, I have been learning 3D
software and how to transfer 2D illustrations to small 3D models, allowing characters that
originally existed only in digital form to become physical objects.
My work is intended for audiences who connect with animation, gaming, and digital art, but also
for viewers in gallery and contemporary art spaces. By combining elements of entertainment
design with artistic exploration, I hope to create work that feels imaginative, engaging, and
meaningful.
I make art to explore storytelling, creativity, and the relationship between digital media and
imagination. Through my work, I aim to create characters and worlds that invite viewers to
connect with both fantasy and the ideas behind it.
