Three Jewels reflects the artist's new chapter of life in China, symbolizing the wholeness of the universe and the idea of rebirth. The work draws inspiration from the spiritual hybrid guardian motifs of the 11th–13th century Anatolian Seljuk period—including the harpy, sphinx, and griffin—alongside dragon imagery, which profoundly influenced Turkish depictions of China, and the Chinese peony motif.
Moving beyond the conventional emphasis on ceramic form, the work transforms metaphor, abstraction, symbolism, and totemic imagery into a single spiritual form. Created using locally sourced Jingdezhen porcelain materials, Three Jewels reinterprets the rich ornamental vocabulary of Turkish art through a contemporary visual language. Classical concepts such as symmetry, divine symbolism, and protective guardian totems are reconfigured to create a new cultural narrative, reflecting the dynamic dialogue between Turkish and Chinese artistic traditions.
