Is there a difference in how you act in person and in the cyber world? Is there a difference between digital and real life citizenship? What does it mean to be an "active citizen"? These are a few of the questions to ponder in today's lesson.

Go to the Padlet Board and post a response to the question of what does it mean to be a good citizen? If you are not sure what "citizen" means, here is a definition. Notice that you can select the speaker icon to adapt the information from text to audio. :) If you have time, add a note explaining what you think it means to be an "active citizen".

- reflect and summarize what you know about digital citizenship.
- write your personal citizenship "code" (beliefs) and add it to your PLS chart.

- What You Believe In: What are your values and beliefs? Let's explain what each of these words means (class brainstorm). You will be writing your own citizenship code which starts what you believe in. :) Next, one way to look at digital citizenship is to think about being responsible, respectful and smart as you think about the "4 P's"- Privacy, People, Property and aPpropriate Use when using technology.
- Show What You Know (SWYK): Choose a tool to list all that you have learned in and out of school about citizenship and being a smart and safe user of technology. If you aren't so sure about what citizenship in the real and virtual world is all about, skip this activity and go to the next one.
- Learn More: Jump down to the Tutorial section to review the resources on digital citizenship. Go through them and look to use your note-taking skills to record important information. :)
- Research Topic: Work on your research.

- Spend some time thinking about what citizenship in the real and virtual world means to you. Further develop what your citizenship code is.
- Explain to your family what we did in class today. Look to ask them what citizenship means to them. Ask them if they have a citizenship code.
- Make a copy of the Google Doc below and write out your citizenship code.
