Our classes will follow the same pattern each week. We start with a Do Now activity to get your brain into action as soon as you arrive. Next will be the Check In to see how you did in working on your follow up efforts from the previous class. We then review the Learning Goals for the class followed by starting the Learning Activities which connect to the Tutorials. The Sandbox section of each class is where you use Padlet to share what you are learning, to ask questions and post information on helpful tools. Italicized words means the teacher will share a mini-lesson with you. Most of the class time will be you working on your own while asking your classmates for support when help is needed. Remember you are in charge of your learning!
Follow Up are activities for you to do at home as you do more research on the apps, websites and extensions we covered in class. You will post information to our Padlet board, read what your classmates post and then choose the tools that you work best for you for the category we worked on in class.

1) If You Could Be: If you could be an animal, object, food, etc. which one would you be and why? Be ready to share with the class.
2) Think of your favorite app, website or extension that helps you the most in your learning. What are a couple things that make it helpful? What is not so great? Be ready to share with the class.

As this is our first class, we cannot check in on what you did last week. Instead we will discuss your Do Now responses.

For the Course> You will...
- learn how to analyze a variety of apps, websites and browser extensions to decide their strengths and weaknesses.
- develop a better understanding of how you learn- your learning style and preferences.
- construct your Personal Learning System (PLS)!
- use tools in your PLS to communicate to your parents what you are learning. :)
- use your PLS to learn about topics that interest you to then communicate what you know about them!
For Today's Class> You will...
- introduce yourself and get to know your classmates.
- will gain understanding of what a Personal Learning System (PLS) is.
- will learn how our classes will run.
- start thinking about topics you wish to learn more about.

- Check In to share your Do Now responses.
- Review how the class works in and outside of our time together.
- Read through and discuss the categories of a PLS listed on the Home page.
- Start thinking about topics that you want to learn more about. We will spend a little time talking about what we are calling inquiry projects.
- Review the Google Doc chart listing the PLS categories. You will get a copy of the chart to start filling out as we move through the course.

We will use the Padlet digital note tool as our sandbox area to share ideas, ask questions and post tools that you find on your own. Here is the Padlet note for today's class. Let's see how Padlet works and how we will use it. Your challenge activity for the coming week is to post a note or two to Padlet sharing:
- what you learned today and what questions you have. Remember to only post appropriate information as you want to always be a good citizen in the real and virtual world.
- possible topics that you are curious about and want to research.
- Here is the link to this week's Padlet (your teacher will give you the password).
