Digital Traces of Anatolia is a project that digitally documents Anatolia's cultural heritage. We produce original content on the region's history, crafts, and traditions. Our goal is to pass on Anatolia's rich culture to future generations. We highlight cultural diversity by documenting the memories and experiences of local people.
By combining technology and culture, we have created an accessible digital resource. Through this resource, we aim to share the stories of Anatolia with the world.
Our mission is to preserve Anatolia's rich cultural heritage and transfer it to future generations in a digital environment. Our goal is to highlight cultural diversity by documenting the experiences and traditions of local communities. By combining technology and culture, we make these values accessible to all. . .
Our vision preserve Anatolia's rich cultural heritage and transfer it to future generations in a digital environment. We aim to highlight cultural diversity by documenting the experiences and traditions of local communities. By combining technology and culture, we make these values accessible to all.
How? We use augmented reality (AR) and 3D modeling techniques to create interactive and visual experiences of cultural artifacts. We securely and accessibly store the collected data in web-based digital archives, offering users a rich experience.
Our target audience: Our project is designed for anyone interested in Anatolian culture. Our main target audience includes academics, students, researchers, and local people. The project also provides an important cultural resource for enthusiasts and the tourism sector.
Who we are? We are a group of six students formed under the mentorship of the ‘Women Science Teachers’ portal. Since 2023, we have been developing various projects related to cultural heritage and technology.
These projects were developed by our team members:
‘City of Troy’ : This project, which combines the ancient city of Troy with digital and STEAM components, won second place in the ‘Low Code Fest’ competition organised by the "Europeana Organisation".
‘Sustainable Clothes’ : This project, which focuses on the sustainability and recycling of clothing, won third place in the BIEA (British International Education Association) International STEM Competition.
‘From Clothes to Rugs’: This project, which aims to recycle fabrics and pass on cultural heritage to future generations, as well as to obtain teaching materials from cultural heritage, won second place in the ‘BIEA International STEM Competition’ organised by the British International Education Association (BIEA).
