In this Criterion you evaluate/test the success of the solution that you created. Has the solution (Magazine) that you created solved the initial problem/need that your client had? Has the solution (Magazine) that you have created functioned as you had intended by fulfilling/meeting the design specifications you set? We will test the solution by following the four strands listed below.
In this section your main task is to design effective testing methods that generates data that you can use to measure the success of the solution/product.
There are 5 major testing methods; Expert appraisal, Field trial, Performance testing, User observation, and User trial.
User trial and User observation test are used to test the usability and intuitiveness of a product/solution.
Field and performance test are used to test the functionality/performance of the product/solution.
Expert appraisal is used to perform beta testing.
Click on the button/link below to see an explanation of the same (Testing Methods).
You first begin your task (strand 1) by stating the testing methods ( a minimum of 2) that you have chosen to test the solution/the product and the data collection methods you shall use to collect data.
Then define each testing method within the context and explain of how each of the chosen testing methods were used/applied to test the solution/product. Mention what aspects of the design specifications did you intend to test in each of the testing method applied
You must also mention the data collection methods that were used for each of the testing methods; for example whether you used the interviews, surveys, tables of ratings and others.
You should also provide a set of the questions/methodology that you formulated for each testing method to test the product/solution. Please note that those questions/methods should be linked to your design specifications/aspects of the product and must also be SMART.
For each of the testing method used with the exception of expert appraisal you MUST consult at least two people to test the product. This is meant to avoid getting subjective/biased data during testing.
The evidence of data collected (sample of the responses received) from the testing methods used should be placed on the appendices after strand 4 of the work. The appendices should include items such as copies/pictures of feedback from the surveys done, feedback from the questionnaires used, feedback from the table of ratings used, feedback from the interviews done and others.
The appendices should be well labelled; the name of the relevant testing method used and name of the respondents clearly indicated.

In this section you evaluate whether the design specifications were Met or not Met by the solution/product after carrying out tests .
When evaluating whether the solution was successful or not successful you MUST refer to the feedack obtained from each of the testing methods used to test each aspect of the design specification.
When critically evaluating the success of a solution, students must objectively judge the solution against the specifications. This objective evaluation comes from analyzing the data gathered after carrying out the tests designed.

Describe at least 3 improvements that need to be made to the created solution.
The improvements must be based on the feedback obtained from the tests done in Strand 1.
To determine the improvements to be made to the created solution consider the aspects of the design specifications that were not met or were partially met during the tests done in Strand 1.
The aspects of the design specifications (that were not met/partially met) can then be counted as weaknesses of the created solution and thus potential areas for improvements.
Make sure to explain the benefit/reason for each of the improvement that need to be made to the created solution.

Explain in detail the impact, the solution will have on your client/target audience.
When explaining the impact of the solution on the client/target audience, be sure to explain how the solution has assisted the client/target audience to solve the initial problem or need.
Explain how the client/target audience problem or challenge has been solved by the solution and if it has not been fully solved or addressed, what are some of the areas that the solution has assisted the client to address/solve the problem?
Elaborate in detail using examples while also mentioning the specifics/aspects of the created solution to show how the created solution has had an impact on the client.
Describe any negative effects that the solution (magazine) might have on the client if there are any.

Your work should have appendices after the last page (strand 4). Appendices should include the samples of responses obtained for the various tests done in Strand 1.
Appendices should include copies/pictures of the surveys done, questionnaire used, table of ratings used, interviews done and others that you used to collect data during the tests you completed.

These documents act as evidence that you did the research and will guard you, against an examiner awarding lower marks/grades for your work.
