Welcome to the Diego Rivera Library — a space for imagination, discovery, and connection. Every book here is a mirror, a window, or a sliding glass door: a mirror reflecting your own story, a window into someone else’s world, and a door inviting you to explore new possibilities.
Here, you belong. Whether you’re reading, researching, collaborating, or recharging — this library is your space to grow, be curious, and be seen. Let’s discover stories that inspire, challenge, and remind us that every voice matters.

The Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) — or simply the Dewey Decimal System — is the way most libraries organize their nonfiction books. It’s like a giant map that helps you find any book based on its subject. Instead of sorting books by title or author, the Dewey System sorts them by topic and gives each one a three-digit number (and sometimes decimals) to show what it’s about. See below for the Diego Rivera library's Dewey Decimal System:

Fannie Lou Hamer's America is a portrait of civil rights activist Fannie Lou Hamer. Through evocative speech and soulful song, Hamer made it her life's work to enfranchise and increase Black political representation. Learn more: https://bit.ly/ARF_FannieLouHamerA
Freedom Riders is the powerful harrowing and ultimately inspirational story of six months in 1961 that changed America forever. From May until November 1961, more than 400 black and white Americans risked their lives—and many endured savage beatings and imprisonment—for simply traveling together on buses and trains as they journeyed through the Deep South. Deliberately violating Jim Crow laws in order to test and challenge a segregated interstate travel system, the Freedom Riders met with bitter racism and mob violence along the way, sorely testing their belief in nonviolent activism.
