Rachid Karami International Fair | Revitalization of the abandoned fairground in Tripoli

The Tripoli Fashion District was born as a redevelopment project based on the textile industry and the Lebanese fashion world. The design focus is on a series of modular elements that form a kind of parasitic rope. This adds new functions to buildings such as communicating, directing, covering and connecting in a dimension halfway between the product and the architecture.

Ealian aims to be a rebirth for the Tripoli Fair. It’s an educational center that can host children from elementary school to young adults going to university. Lebanon is going through a hard period due to economic difficulty, therefore we wanted to create a safe and conscious space in which to express oneself freely and without constraints.

Rihin Artistic Craftsmanship Mediterranean Centre was created to bring together the artisan traditions of the entire Mediterranean basin, to make them known and handed down to the new generations of artists and enthusiasts.

The wind is the fulcrum of the fair, a bearer of culture and the source of energy that makes the fair center self-sufficient in energy.

Cinemayer makes full use of the large size of the Tripoli International Fair. Public performance and entertainment spaces alternate with private film production spaces. A leap into the future with new experimental cinemas that enhance Niemeyer's architecture and help transform Tripoli into the largest film district in the Middle East.

The project promotes an already present culture of sport, providing facilities for between Niemeyer’s architectures.

We used the power of outdoor exercise to promote integration, community, health and education.

Spark is the centerpiece of the restoration, a wellness center for body and mind.

MELT is an experiential culinary cultural center, capable of involving the user at 360 degrees, and wants to be an opportunity for the citizens of Tripoli.

In addition to organizing different areas, our project focuses on the culinary experience, designed to connect the past and future through augmented reality and traditional dishes with molecular cuisine.

The project aims to create a bridge between the fair and the rest of the world through a visual sound stargate and mini stargates. Thanks to the stargate you can live an immersive experience, such as attending concerts and live events around the world, or seeing and listening the typical sounds of the city or wildlife, such as the Big Ben Tower chime or the blowing wind through the Grand Canyon.

TriPlay is a mixed-amusement park built inside the Tripoli Fair.

The park contains playful games and cutting-edge technologies for the entertainment of the Lebanese and European people.

The Drone Station Heliport is the main attraction of TriPlay: a structure on which to take off their drones and pilot them inside the park. The heliport is the combination of design and technology, thanks to the construction of a dynamic double geodesic cover.

Water Tripoli Fair is a water park where every attraction is fed through rainwater collected throughout the fair.

The park becomes a means to involve people and raising awareness about the water problem.

The tensile-structure, placed on the “Gran Cover”, becomes the symbol of this collection.

The project consists in the redevelopment of the Tripoli international fair as a center of Lebanese craftsmanship. The aim is to improve Lebanese working conditions, culture and traditions. The project includes an exhibition area and a space where artisans can work and sell their products.

Revitalization of Niemeyer’s Grand Cover through a night market, boasting every possible taste of the globe. The project’s scope and goal is the creation of a multicultural sense of connection to a common ground by its inhabitants. Therefore, cohesion and co-existance are two major keywords for the project, with the intent of bringing people with different backgrounds and upbringings together.

Integrate the fair to Tripoli and its citizens, integrating it within the urban fabric, transforming it into a cultural-technological pole that can help the local population to create new jobs and training opportunities.

All this thanks to a startup incubator, that offer newly born businesses a place to operate, also being helped by strategic consultancy in various subjects.
