2nd Cycle Degree in Advanced Design
University of Bologna
The Master's Degree course in Advanced Design aims to train designers who are experts in the innovation processes of products and services (product / service systems).
The main feature of the courses is the multidisciplinary nature that allows master's graduates to acquire skills and knowledge to operate in companies, organizations, associations active in various fields, such as: ICT; Digital manufacturing; Strategic design; Production of capital goods; Research centers for innovation; Service design companies.
The module deals with an articulated and complex production sector such as that of the production of components and systems for the construction sector. At the end of the course the student: will be able to deal with issues related to structural performance, climate control, durability, safety, weight, transport, handling, and control of connection systems, which characterize the context of application of the component building
The module collects the stimuli offered by the teaching of Technical Architecture and inserts them within a design process related to a component or product of appropriate complexity to explore its peculiarities. At the end of the teaching, the student knows how to analytically explore the complexity of a component exposed to the environmental and climatic conditions of the construction industry.
Full Professor
Full Professor in Industrial Design, focuses his research interests on three main fronts:
human interaction, usability and ergonomics.
design education and in particular the topic of teaching future design aesthetics.
design of territories and mediterranean design.
He has been professor and head of department at the German University of Cairo for several years. He has published books and articles on topics of his research interest.
Adjunct professor
Construction Engineer, graduated in Building and Architectural Engineering, PhD in Architecture at the University of Bologna in co-direction with the Université de Paris-Est, with a degree recognized in Italy and France. Thanks to the study and research experiences carried out abroad in the field of scientific discipline ICAR10, her profile is oriented towards the enhancement of cultural heritage, the preservation of local constructive techniques, the conservation and restoration of historical and recent built patrimony, performance renovation and energy refurbishment of recent building stock. His main research interests are aimed at the development of new constructive technologies aimed at updating historical construction techniques. He also deals with TLS (Terrestrial Laser Scanning), with emphasis on the application of reverse engineering techniques to the building heritage and the speditive evaluation of existing building assets. Other research topics are related to the on-site dynamic characterizationof buildings with non-invasive techniques.
Adjunct professor
Research Fellow at the Department of Architecture of the University of Bologna, she carries out her research in the field of the performance redevelopment of the existing heritage.
During the course we asked our students to rethink this exhibition space trying to maintain its cultural, architectural and historical value. Craft, culture and leisure are some of the keywords used by students to develop their projects and give the Tripoli's citizens an active space.
The Iceland Cave Tower competition is the fourth in Bee Breeders series of architecture competitions set in Iceland, and is being run in partnership with the Landeigendur Voga ehf (landowners of Vogar farmland). For this competition, participants are tasked with creating designs for a stopping point for tourists to visit before exploring the caves.
