My first demonstration experience in grade 7 was truly unforgettable. I chose the topic "4 Types of Diction" for this demonstration, hoping to introduce an important concept in English in an interesting and easy-to-understand way. The enthusiasm of the grade 7 children was extraordinary. They showed great interest in the material I presented, asked questions actively, and participated in every activity I designed.
I am very proud to see how they tried hard to understand and apply the new concepts I taught. The support and encouragement from the teachers and my supervisors while in the field were also very meaningful. They provided constructive feedback and always encouraged me to give my best. Their presence made me feel more confident and motivated.
One of the things I enjoyed the most was the freedom to use my English. I felt more comfortable delivering the material in my own style, without worrying whether the students would understand or not. This is because I saw that the students here have a good understanding of English, so they can follow my explanation smoothly. In Indonesia, I might hesitate to use the same method, due to the different levels of English understanding of the students.
I am amazed by their understanding of English language learning. They are not only able to memorize vocabulary and grammar, but also able to understand the context and use English effectively in communication. This experience gives me confidence that with the right teaching methods, students anywhere can achieve a high level of English proficiency.
