The Schools Division of Surigao del Norte continued its disaster preparedness initiatives with the conduct of the 2nd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED), led by the Division DRRM and implemented by schools across the division.

The activity focused on enhancing response efficiency and coordination based on observations from the previous drill. Learners and school personnel promptly executed earthquake response protocols and proceeded with organized evacuation and accountability procedures.

Division DRRM monitoring teams observed improvements in alarm recognition, evacuation discipline, and assembly area organization. School DRRM committees ensured that assigned emergency roles were carried out and that safety measures were observed, particularly for learners requiring assistance.

Following the drill, schools conducted post-activity assessments to document best practices and address identified gaps. The 2nd Quarter NSED reinforced the importance of regular drills in maintaining readiness and improving disaster response systems within the school setting.
