A Democratic Central Committee (DCC) is a political entity that conducts the California Democratic Party's affairs within a specific county. It is an official party organization that endorses candidates, sets the party platform, and supports Democratic campaigns, while Democratic Clubs are grassroots groups that engage in political activism, education, and community outreach.
Membership: Composed of elected representatives from each County
Elections: Members are elected every four years during primary elections or may be appointed to fill open positions.
Membership is limited by the number of registered Democrats in each county.
Yuba County Democratic Party
All registered Democrats in Yuba County are members of the County Democratic Party. The Central Committee (YCDCC) is the official governing body within the County, responsible for local elections and endorsements of local candidates (County-level and down). The Central Committee is composed of elected members, elected officials, appointees, and representatives of Chartered Clubs.
A Democratic Club is an official association of local Democrats whose primary focus is to bring local Democrats together to discuss, debate, and work to promote Democratic candidates and legislation in their city, town, neighborhood, and/or region.
Depending on membership, chartered clubs are able to send specified numbers of voting members to the state Democratic party to pre-endorsement meetings. ( 1 delegate for each 20 full members.)
Grassroots Activism: Clubs focus on local political activism, education, and community outreach and community service.
Membership: Open to anyone interested in supporting Democratic values and candidates.
Engagement: They engage members in political discussions and activities, fostering a sense of community.

The DNC
The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is the Party’s national governing body. In general, it works on presidential elections and national party building activities and provides support to state parties. The DNC is comprised of state party chairs and vice-chairs, as well as over 200 DNC members who are elected by each state party.
YCDCC
All registered Democrats in YUBA COUNTY are members of the County Democratic Party The Central Committee is the official governing body within the County, responsible for local elections and endorsements of local candidates (County-level and down). The Central Committee is composed of elected members, elected officials, appointees, and representatives of Chartered Democratic Clubs.
Clubs
Democratic Clubs, like those chartered by YCDCC are the activist grassroots of the party. They hold events, organize in cities and neighborhoods, and have representation in the Democratic Party endorsement process. Any member of the public can join a chartered club (subject to each club’s bylaws).
CADEM
The California Democratic Party (CADEM) is the nation’s largest statewide party, with more than 10 million members. The Democratic State Central Committee (DSCC) is the state party’s governing body. They work on state-wide party building, establish the state party platform, and endorse candidates for state races as well as our representatives to Congress. The DSCC includes representatives from county Democratic parties, elected Assembly District Delegates, and elected officials & their appointees.
Central Committee
The Central Committee is the governing body of the County Democratic Party. The purpose of the Committee is to:
Elect Democratic candidates who reflect Democratic Party values
Register Democratic voters
Raise money
Organize and support local Democratic clubs
To perform such other duties and services as will benefit the Democratic Party in and for YUBA County
Fundraising pays for our general operating expenses. These expenses include a PO Box, a Storage shed for our supplies, Insurance for events, the cost of the website, the cost to send bulk email messages to inform the commmunity, etc. The expenses grow as we grow .
We buy materials for activities such as the protests that are becoming more frequent.
We need to rent venues to hold candidate forums or campaign events.
We pay fees to participate in parades and have booths at fairs.
We donate to candidate or causes.
We may incur costs for community service activities or donations to homeless.
Membership votes on the annual budget and specific items to include.
