  Duties of the Activities Committee 

•  Plan, organize, and coordinate club events, such as meetings, rallies, fundraisers, and social gatherings.

• Collaborate with other committees to ensure events support the club's goals and foster member engagement.

• Manage logistics, including venue selection, supplies, scheduling, and invitations.

• Promote activities through club communication channels and encourage member participation.

• Evaluate the success of events and gather feedback to improve future activities.

Duties of the Community Service Committee 

• Organize and coordinate volunteer activities that benefit the local community, such as food drives, neighborhood cleanups, and outreach programs.

• Identify community needs and propose initiatives that align with the club’s values and political goals.

• Collaborate with local organizations, schools, and government agencies to maximize the impact of service projects.

• Promote member participation in community service events through communication and engagement efforts.

• Track and report on the outcomes of service projects to the club leadership and membership.

• Ensure that all activities comply with relevant regulations and reflect positively on the political club.

Duties of the Fundraising Committee 

• Develop fundraising strategies and plans to support the club’s political activities and campaigns.

• Organize and oversee fundraising events, such as dinners, auctions, and rallies, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

• Identify and engage potential donors, including individuals, corporations, and community groups, to secure financial contributions.

• Maintain accurate records of donations, expenditures, and donor information for transparency and reporting purposes.

• Coordinate with other committees and club leadership to align fundraising efforts with overall club objectives.

• Communicate regularly with members about fundraising goals, progress, and opportunities to participate.

• Ensure ethical fundraising practices and adherence to all applicable campaign finance laws.

Duties of the Publicity Committee

• Develop and implement strategies to promote the club's activities, events, and campaigns through various media platforms.

• Create press releases, newsletters, and other communications to inform members and the public about important news and updates.

• Maintain the club’s social media presence, ensuring regular posting and engagement with followers.

• Coordinate with local media outlets for coverage of club events and initiatives.

• Design promotional materials such as flyers, posters, and digital content to enhance visibility.

• Monitor public perception and respond to inquiries or concerns related to the club’s activities.

• Work closely with other committees to ensure cohesive messaging and support for club objectives.

HISTORY

Three friends were getting together to stretch and bend into pretzel like yoga moves twice weekly. Unable to keep quiet and focus during the poses, and failing to clear their minds of intrusive thoughts during meditation, they were overcome by the politics of the day. Ideas started developing and began to bounce back and forth.  Out of this yoga collaborative, the Yuba County Democratic "club"  was born. We decided to hold a monthly Koffee Klatch.  Members of the Yuba DCC were invited, and they invited other friends. The group started to grow and  we gave it a whimsical name,  Dems And Friends From Yuba.  The acronym, DAFFY, provided a fun cartoon logo.  As we began to get closer to forming an actual  democratic club, the members decided to change the name and logo. The name change is official as of August 2025. We are Yuba Dems & Friends.  We currently meet the last Wednesday of each month at different locations at 10:00 am.
