Every Friday and Monday until the election: We are hanging our YES on 50 Banners on the McGowan Parkway overpass on HWY 70. PLEASE SIGN UP FOR A SHIFT! We will be meeting in the Cal Trans Parking Lot on the West side of 70, North side of McGowan. You will walk to the overpass and use the carabiners to hang the banners on the chain link fencing. We have a Banner for each side. Go to mobilize to see times and sign up. Once you hang the banner, All you need to do is smile and wave at the cars below.

Every Wednesday at 11am until the Election: We are doing a " Burma Shave" style sign display on the Bridge on HWY 20 from Marysville to Yuba City. The signs will spell out our Yes on 50 message, with 2 words on each sign. (STOP TRUMP'S -POWER GRAB-VOTE YES-ON 50, YD&F yubademsandfriends.org) Volunteers will space themselves in single file, no closer than one at each lamp post, giving drivers the opportunity to read them. Yuba Dems and Friends Joined YCDCC and thousands of people across the country for Sun Day: a day of action and celebration in support of solar and wind energy, and a clear call to leave fossil fuels behind. We had a few other issues on our minds as well.

40+ Democrats from the local neighborhood in the foothills, to Oroville, Marysville, Plumas Lake, Yuba City and Lincoln, came to hear Mike Thompson discuss the Redistricting plan and Prop. 50.

He explained in detail the urgency and the high stakes involved that require the passage of this measure. The message was clear, and very credibly delivered by a high ranking senior Congressman with a reputation of working together with republican colleagues. This measure is a must win for Democracy. If it passes, all of Yuba County will be in Congressional District 4, which is currently Mike Thompson's seat.

RED MARYSVILLE, YUBA -SUTTER, FIGHTS BACK

Over 150 people turned out to join us to protest the Trump/Musk regime in red, rural, Yuba County. This was a great turnout for the area that is 60% Republican. The protesters were from Yuba County, and Sutter County, with a couple of folks from neighboring Butte and Placer. We are represented by Kevin Kiley (R) in CD3, and Doug LaMalfa in CD1. These congressional Representatives vote with Trump and MAGA. They must be replaced.

There was a lot of positive energy generated by the shared resistance and the commitment to protecting our Democracy, our civil rights, our Social Security, Veterans, immigrants, the planet, Ukraine, Gaza, our wallets, and you name it, our entire future.

Thank you all for "Takin it to the Streets!"

The People"s March, 5/2025

On Saturday, Jan. 18th, residents of Yuba, Sutter, Nevada and other counties converged at Washington Square in Marysville to show the strength of a feminist-led progressive movement, its communities and networks – and to stand up for reproductive freedoms, families, and our futures – at a time when community involvement is critical to both absorbing new organizers into the movement and providing a network and on-ramp to the movement for people at the local level.

The action was in conjunction with People’s Marches across the country, anchored by a collection of coalitions and movements that gathered people across the country and in Washington, D.C.
