Open Evening

Open Evening 2018

We opened our doors on Thursday 4th October to all of our prospective families from our local community and beyond. The staff and the students had worked really hard to make the school site and building as welcoming as possible. The activities taking place in the classrooms created a real buzz. From afternoon tea served by the English department to European sticker making. From flag face painting in Humanities to gruesome dissections in Science. From Marshmallow Maths to block letter printing in Art. From drumming to a performance of the Enchanted Rose. From making bookmarks and pencil holders to code breaking! From sports to taste-testing in the dining room. WOW!

Your children were a real credit to the school. Our Senior Student Leaders and Transition Leaders were a shining example of professionalism and embodied all of our core ASPIRE values as they conducted tours around the school. Year 11 students Daniel (Head Boy) and Beth (Head Girl), along with two Year 8 Transition Leaders students Annie and Louis stole the show in the Outdoor Pursuits Centre with their impressive aspirational speeches.

A group of year 11 students were our press pack for the evening and on the night produced 'The Longdendale Mail' a comprehensive, well written account of the evening celebrating its success and showcasing your children’s talents.
