On any given day, anyone can have a great audition, or a less than desirable audition. Auditions are a necessary process and vital tool as well as a chance for the directors to see you shine on material that you have rehearsed and perfected. Your audition should be a reflection of your time and commitment to the arts. Directors also understand that anything can happen during an audition, which is why everyday is an audition. We are truly on your side.
As soon as you know when auditions are scheduled, you must begin your preparation. If you already know certain shows are announced, you should begin preparing. Research the style, genre, time period, etc. Self access your strengths and weaknesses and begin your prep for auditions. If you do not know where your strengths and weaknesses, ask your directors. You must be open minded to hear the truth if you really want to be a part of any production. This is an educational process and it is our intent to help you understand where you are and where you could go!

"In music, as in everything,
the disappearing moment of experience is the firmest reality."
~Benjamin Boretz
When Nina enters her first air guitar competition, she thinks winning will be easy. But as she befriends a group of charismatic nerds all committed to becoming the next champion, she discovers that there's more to this art form than playing pretend; it's about finding yourself in your favorite songs, and performing with raw joy. Will Nina be able to let go and set herself free onstage? Following her mission to shred or be shredded, Airness is an exuberant reminder that everything we need to rock is already inside us. A comedy about competition, completion, and finding the airness inside yourself.
"You don't choose air guitar. Air guitar chooses you."
~C. Diddy, 2003 World Air Guitar Champion

Some tips to have the most successful audition:
· State your name, audition piece, and the name of the show by which it appears in before beginning your vocal selection. This is called a slate.
· Please use backing tracks/accompaniment below, or create your own; we prefer no Acapella singing but may accept Happy Birthday or Amazing Grace.
· Keep your upper torso as well as the top of your head in frame.
· Consider watching a Jr. or full production of Legally Blonde to understand the character singing and how the song fits into the show.
· Do not stress :) Have fun and show off your character and talent!
