S/O lives in a bad area: Makes up excuses for them to sleep over at his HQs as often as possible.
Tries to stay with them at their place, too, but that’s much more difficult for him to do with the nature of his work.
Puts surveillance cameras all over their house that are rigged to notify him if anyone breaks in. (He trusts himself more than any police agency.) (yes he periodically spies on them, as well. He’s concerned about them is all.)
Has guards that he would use for his personal protection (so you know he trusts them) watching them 24 hours a day, but never lets them know it.
Tells them that at any time they decide that it’s right for them, all they have to do is say the word and he will get them a place anywhere else…or they can move in with him.
He’s kind of a germaphobe, but not a rational one. (does that make sense to anyone else? no? just me? ok...)
He’s secretly lonely. This got worse during the Kira case.
He eats normal food, he just prefers sweets and when he’s on a case he wants the sugar.
He prefers coffee to tea but does like both.
When he’s stressed, he reaches for a lollipop like a smoker reaches for a cigarette. No one realizes this except for Watari.
He’s good with a gun.
He’s agnostic and has been since he was young.
He’s Demisexual.
When he does sleep, he likes the t.v on in the background.
He remembers vague things about his parents and what happened before Watari found him.
He’s a secret fan of Agatha Christie novels, especially ones where Hercule Poirot is the detective.
He loves music, but has no real preference. What he chooses to listen to is dependent on his mood. He does tend toward rock and classical, though.
Heeadcanons for L when he was little please?
Oh Dear Anon! I love this so much! L as a child…my weakness.
He was a precocious little sh*t that could have tried the patience of any saint. Luckily for him Watari loved this about him and even when he was at his wits end with him, he still found him adorable.
He corrected every adult’s grammar.
Roger found him extremely irritating and had a hard time hiding it. Watari assumed L knew, but acted as though he didn’t. (Perhaps he was just used to people treating him that way.)
Eventually Roger got over it and became quite fond of him.
On the rare occasion When Watari would get him to sleep, he had horrible nightmares. Watari never wanted to pry into what they were about.
He soon realized that it was better to just let L be L and let him sleep where ever & whenever he could. (Think of the exhausted little kid that just curls up where ever they are and falls asleep.) L never outgrew this.
Watari never forced L to play with the other children, but when he was small, he would make him go outside at least once a day for fresh air.
L liked to pet the occasional stray cat that wandered into Wammy’s yard.
He would often bring critters back into his room and keep them until Watari found them and made L put them back outside. Eventually he bought L his own terrarium and let him keep a gecko.
He preferred books to television and would often ask if he could read the books in Watari’s study.
When L came to Wammy’s, he was badly bruised and his clothes were very dirty. When Watari tried to get him to wear something else, he became very upset. Watari got him new clothes identical to what he had been wearing when he came there and it became his “uniform” ever since. (As far as L was concerned, Who needs to be bothered picking out clothes anyway. As an adult, he is far too busy to be concerned with that.)
He was already fluent in Japanese and French when Watari found him.
He knew many children’s songs and lullabies and would often hum to himself when he was playing or working on something.
L refused to eat the food at Wammy House because it was “yucky” and not like what his mom used to make. Watari began centering his meals around sweeter things in hopes to get him to eat.
If L would at least try to eat meals, Once a week, Watari would bring L to the sweets shop down the street and let him pick out £1’s worth of candy.
Watari spoiled him, letting his big heart and fatherly instincts towards L get the better of him, but L so rarely asked or took advantage, he liked indulging the boy.
