Digital Literacy & Foundations

In Unit 1, we did a digital footprint activity, which was my favorite part. We used SIMpath to learn more about hardware and networking, web and cloud systems, and internet browsers. We also started building our e-portfolio and learned the meanings of different digital terms we see and use all the time but didn’t always fully understand.

What I Did :

• Researched my personal digital footprint and reflected on my online presence.

• Completed a project exploring how my digital activity appears across the internet.

• Assessed my knowledge of hardware, networking, the internet, and the World Wide Web.

• Created my ePortfolio website to organize and share my work for the semester.

• Began building and customizing my ePortfolio to showcase my learning.

• Started learning key foundational concepts in hardware, software, and networking systems.

What I Learned : 

• What a digital footprint is and how online activity impacts my digital identity.

• Gained a better understanding of how to evaluate my own presence online.

• Improved my knowledge of hardware, networking, internet systems, and web technologies.

• How information systems like the internet and browsers function together.

• Understood the importance of organizing and presenting work through an ePortfolio.

• Essential digital and networking vocabulary used in everyday technology.
