Introduction to Information Systems 

Unit 0 served as an introduction to information systems and the role they play in our everyday lives. During this unit, I became familiar with the platforms and tools we will be using throughout the course while beginning to build important technology and information literacy skills.

What I Did:

• Set up and organized my course notebook and materials.

• Explored the Brightspace information system.

• Registered for and began using SIMnet.

• Completed my first SIMPath activity.

• Strengthened my Outlook skills.

• Learned key course vocabulary.

• Practiced researching and verifying information.

What I Learned:

• What an information system is and how it is used in everyday life.

• Hidden features of the Brightspace learning platform.

• Registered for and learned how to navigate SIMnet.

• Important course vocabulary and technology terms.

• Gained a better understanding of the technology tools that will be used throughout the course.

• How to add a professional email signature on Outlook
