Dr. Chaos Games to Play

• Goal: Spice up the CCA by running a new set of Lots, but do it in real time during a specified single hour. The Chips will be transferred to the main game at the end.

• 1-line summary: During the single hour of the Live Auction people can submit, bid, do buy-it-now's, request lots you name it as long as it's fun and do so in real time via Zoom, Messenger or email.

• More detail on the How:

  • The structure of the CCLA will be the same in that send Submissions and they are put on the "Board", and people bid

  • The CCLA officially starts at 8PM central, and runs for 1 hour (long enough to be fun, but not so long that people need to leave).

  • The primary activity will be on Zoom (room and more details below). Since not everyone can participate on Zoom (or only partially with voice, or video or Chat), or stay the whole time, people will be allowed to Submit/Bid via Zoom chat, Messenger or email. Dave will keep his eye on the other two

  • Since I'm violently opposed to sniping we will have the following rules (open for discussion)

    • No new open lots will be allowed for the last 10 minutes past the hour so everyone has an equal shot, and the Submitter gets full consideration

    • While anyone may place a Bid at any time, during the last 5 minutes people will only be allowed to increase Bids (no new first bids). We will allow people a few minutes after the hour to increase a bid if someone just outbid you. When it's all over but the shouting, the CCLA Auction is declared over.

    • People who need to leave early (or not be online) will be allowed to leave a Proxy "high bid" with Dr. Chaos so that there will be no Sniping.

  • People can pre-submit or pre-bid before the Auction so there is more time for live stuff

  • People can verbally do their Submissions and Bids in real time (or in Zoom chat). Those with cameras can share close ups of Lots

  • Good natured cajoling and "marketing" is allowed and encouraged

  • People can ask for specific items to be submitted (bring your Dupes boxes!!!) "Hey... anyone have any 60's HN's?" or "looking for a few 55 Bowmans to finish my set." "Any Goudey's out there?"

  • Trades (with and without Chips) can be made with Chips going on the board. Pulling more of the same type of card like we do with Starting 9's is encouraged.

  • Buy-it-now will be fully allowed, and peer pressure may be employed to make lots go at a fair value or changed to regular auction at any time

  • We will allow Reserves on Lots, and again peer pressure can be used to make lots go at a fair value or not at all

  • Witty banter/ramblings will be allowed (JRo and Arch: you're welcome). People who use this opportunity to make it fun for everyone this will be smiled upon. However, anyone who interferes with the bidding and submitting will be "smote with great vengeance". As it is written: "thou shalt no mess with the flying of the cards." (well... unless it's funny... and then we recommence with flying cards.)
