Some Great Byte 1 Examples
Post date: Jan 25, 2015 10:36:01 PM
Thanks to all of your hard work, we started off the semester with a wonderful set of examples of fun things that can be done with existing data streams. Here in no particular order are some that caught my eye:
- An Alternative to Google Scholar -- Great news, I can now search for refs all in one place :)
- Ebola Cases in 3 African Countries -- An up to date overview for those of us tracking this terrible epidemic
- Top Movies, by Genre, on Netflix (and reviews for a specific movie of your choice; and birthdates and deathdates for actors/actresses)
- Fashion! (search for a trend). Being fashion illiterate I have no further comment, except there were several of you who chose this focus, so get together and teach me in a group project later this semseter :).
- Pittsburgh overview. Also a nice example of using Angular to make it pretty.
- Two examples of emotion-based feeds. Twitter + emotion and games + emotion
- Also for those interested in games, a games review aggregator.
- To help you find online courses of interest
- Fun with photos: By location; by term
- To help you find a job.
