Byte 6 Results

Byte 6, as with all your other work, blew me away with the interesting and thoughtful things so many of you did. Some of the things you explored included:

• Mother's age:
  • Teen mothers over the years
  • The relationship between mother's age and percentage of miscarriages
  • Mother's age at first birth over time; mother's age at second birth over time; and a comparison of the two (but I'm having trouble understanding the y axis for this one)
  • Trend in % mothers who are below 18 or above 35 over time (also looked at average birth age by year and unmarried mother rate).
  • Repeat of first age over time along with average age by race
  • Relationship between state and age at first birth
• Infant Health:
  • Relationship between alcohol consumption and infant death; as well as alcohol consumption and birth weight
• Other:
  • Mixed race births (chinese/white)
  • Relationship between apgar at 1min and 5mins explored through a series of views
  • Relationship between state of birth and apgar score, averaged across entire time period
