Checkliste LOT Awareness

Thank you for being part of making the LOT a safer space!

Before your Awareness shift: 

• Here you can find our Code of Conduct for the Awareness work at Lot. Please take time to read through it and get back to Bam or your team, if you have any questions. 

• Please check in with yourself, how do you feel, are you ready for your shift? If you have any doubts, please communicate the matters with your team. We are here to support each other. 

When you get to the LOT:

• The Lot is basically one main room with a gallery. This gallery is not open to the guests but is used by the organising team and also for AWA purposes. You can enter the gallery from street level only on the backside of the building behind the LOT main entrance. 

• All our awa material is stored in the gallery. You can find them in the cupboard under the large screen in a red box. It is labeled “awa staff”. There you find all resources. At the end of this document, you have a list of the ressources.. 

LOT Awareness shift preparations: 

• Introduce yourself to all the staff members - the selection team at the door, the bar staff and the VL (Veranstaltungsleitung): also kindly ask for the  Personal conditions of the other staff, any specifics good to know. 

• Clarify communication channels to use at the event with the LOT staff. Note: Security is not in this channel. Get the telephone number of security and bar staff in case.

• Please make sure you wear an AWA lanyard (in the red awa box). All staff involved in the event are wearing lanyards that state their function. So we are easily recognisable. 

• We have two modes of working: stationary and free walking in the venue. Please prepare a stationary AWA stand in the most suitable area for the event  (this can change from event to event, depending on the set up of the room). 

• The emergency bandaid box is part of the stationary set up. You can get the bandaid box from the bar. 

• All other AWA material you can take from the red box in the gallery. Get as much awa material as you need to fill your awa fanny bag  hygiene material, condoms, earplugs, glucose, chewing gums. Please put the pink fairy lights visibly around your fanny pack and turn them on for your shift. 

• There are print outs in the red Awa box in the gallery. The laminated ones should be used to signpost the stationary awa spot and to inform the guests that there will be AWA at  the entrance (Kassa). 

• Check the sign postings - there should be sign posts at the bar, the entrance and the toilet. If they are missing, replace them with new ones (maybe some need to be reprinted (you can ask VL for this).

• Prepare the planned infrastructure in good time (refuge area, information table,hanging up material!

During the shift: 

• Respect your own boundaries! In the event of an incident, only act if nothing contradicts this (e.g. self-protection; personal relationship with the persons involved).

• Get support from the bar or security in case.  -> Documentation, passing on information if necessary.

• Please from time to time check the sanitary Products in the silver cases in the toilets on the wall and refill if necessary

• Please also be so kind as to check if there is enough toilet paper and paper towels and refill if necessary (you can find new ones under the sink in the downstairs bathroom).

• Refuge/Calm area - In the gallery there is a shower, bathrooms and also a small isolated calming space - however, it is not sound proof. If during your shift, someone needs to be taken out of the party context, you can bring them to the gallery and use it as a refuge. The most calm place will be at the back of the bathroom. 

 After the shift

• Check-out - ask about the personal condition and incidents at the bar and entrance. Passing information is important! 

• In the AWA Box in the gallery there are awa shift report. 

• Please fill out the awa Shift report at the end of your shift and hand it to the AWA Lead oder the VL (Veranstaltungsleitung)  before you leave 

• Tear down/Packing up materials

• Check-out with VL (Veranstaltungsleitung)

-> If any of the items is missing in the AWA box, please indicate the missing or /soon to be empty items here in the doc or in the summary report.
