Overview of the ground floor
Amplifiers & PA Controllers are up on the Gallery.
Submixer to switch on sound is located on the right wall close to the bar in the back.
Power outlets are labeled Light, Sound & Common Use.
There is also one in the centre, tell us if you need.
Only use the outlets labeled Sound. If you need more outlets, there is a black power box with cables, distributors, bridges and dance floor tape (don't use gaffa on our dance floor).
You can use each of the four mono input channels as well as two stereo input channels. On 1 & 2 there is already a stereo XLR-cable setup that you can use for your DJ controller. For mics we recommand 3 & 4.
Make sure to always have turned on the input gain and channel level knob for each channel you are using as well as the master level knob to get your sound to the speakers. An panel for stereo.
Our DJ controller is located behind the black curtains in this case. Click below for Controller Manual. Next to it you find Molton to cover the windows (red box) and bigger pieces for other stuff (grey box).
You'll find mics, monitors and cables in the crate just behind. Please ensure you always put everything back like this, since it's a LOT of work to organize - thanks!
To build a stage you can use 6x 2x1m podests on wheels, 30cm feet are in between longer ones in the grey Plastic Box-Tower on wheels. Always store them this:
Set Back Manual.
This is how our standard setup for concerts looks like, you can modify according to your needs.
In the crate you'll find mics, DI boxes, monitor speakers, mobile PA speakers, stage box, all XLR cables, 3 length categories, speak on cables as well as all sorts of audio and adapters.
In front of the white wall to the left, behind the curtain you'll find our mic stands as well as speaker stands for the tops and our mobile PA.
In this case with blue wheels you find our Mixer. For live concerts, you can use the preset "LOT Live". This includes already setup monitor buses, effect buses, mute groups and basic routing.
For information check the manual:
To connect the mixer & stage box, use our network system. Access points are around the room and are labelled with SOUND and a specific number assigned to it. Use these to connect mixer & stage box by patching them at the batch bay at the bar.
If you mix from the gallary use ??? outlet & number for the mixer
For bigger set ups take the stage box (32 channels) from the crate (picture above). If you only need a small set up (1-4 Channels) you can use this handy device (picture below) inside the mixer case and connect to the mixer via network.
You can use the prepared stereo XLR-cables at the submixer (1&2) to get your sound from the mixing desk to the speaker system.
You have to connect the respective outlets at the patchbay to link them with each other. Once the connection is established, a small icon should appear in the routing section of the mixing desk.
Connect the stagebox or adapter to any network outlet and patch the respective outlet number to the one labelled SOUND (LJ1) in the patchbay.
You can find speakon-outputs for Subs & Tops in three corners of the room to modify the set-up. Long speakon cables are already on the subs or you'll find them in the crate at the back.
We have four tops in all corners as a standard Set-Up for Surround. You can put them on a distance pipe to mount them on the subs to get a mobile tower. If you dont want sorround just unplug but stereo?
The PA Controller is located upstairs in the gallery on top of the sauna.
Select one of the 3 available four-channel presets at the main controller.
The password to unlock is “1234”, use the wheel to pick the numbers. Now press the button "Preset" and use the wheel to navigate between the presets.
"FLAT4CH" (for speech), "ISO4CH" (for music) or "CLUB4CH" (for club music).
The 4-Channel preset needs to be selected on the mixing desk, available in the library. Download the USB-Audio-Driver for the Behringer Wing Mixing desk and route the 4-channel audio inside your DAW to channels 1–4 on the Wing. These are assigned to Bus 1–4 which are routed to outputs 1–4 on the back of the console. Use 4 XLR cables to connect these outputs to the 4 inputs at the back of the mixer.
To mute any speaker, press the mute button beneath the respective speaker output channel on the right side of the console. The speaker is muted if the light is on.
The sound system at Das LOT consists of a main passive PA system, additional active speakers for monitoring, as well as the control elements such as the main mixing console or the signal processing controller.
Main PA: 4x D&B E1 Tops, 2x D&B E15 Subs
Active Speakers: 2x Mackie SRM350, 1x dB Technologies SUB612
Mixing console: Behringer Wing Compact
Sub Mixer: Allen & Heath ZED10
DJ Controller: Pioneer XDJ XZ
The main PA system is connected and controlled by the Allen & Heath ZED10 submixer, which provides inputs to feed the system with different sources such as your smartphone and laptop (aux or Bluetooth), DJ mixer output, or the master output of the mixing console.
