6A. Foster a culture where students take ownership of their learning goals and outcomes in both independent and group settings.

I have students set goals and track their own progress on their sight word fluency and math facts. They use the SeeSaw app to record themselves practicing their fluency on their current sight word list.

6B. Manage the use of technology and student learning strategies in digital platforms, virtual environments, hands-on makerspaces or in the field.

As I mentioned previously, I helped set up our school MakerSpace where students get to spend 30-60 minutes per week creating and exploring.

6C. Create learning opportunities that challenge students to use a design process and computational thinking to innovate and solve problems.

In my class, we do many STEM challenges where students utilize the design process to help them solve a real world problem related to NGSS science standards. We also use apps such as CodeSpark that challenge students to use coding skills to solve problems.

6D. Model and nurture creativity and creative expression to communicate ideas, knowledge, or connections.

We do STEM challenges and also utilize our MakerSpace to challenge students and let them express their creativity and problem solving skills.
