Adolescence is the transition from childhood to adulthood, marked by rapid physical growth, changing emotions, and the development of a more independent identity. It unfolds in three clear stages, each with its own typical patterns......
🌱 Early Adolescence (about 10–13 years)
Young people begin puberty, grow quickly, and often feel self‑conscious as their bodies change. Thinking is still black‑and‑white, and they may crave more privacy and independence.Â
🌿 Middle Adolescence (about 14–17 years)
Physical changes continue, and many teens start exploring romantic and sexual feelings. Their thinking becomes more complex, but emotions can still be intense. Identity exploration — including gender and sexuality — becomes more prominent.Â
🌳 Late Adolescence (about 18–21 years)
Most physical development is complete. Thinking becomes more adult‑like, with better reasoning, planning, and emotional regulation. Young people work toward independence, stable identity, and clearer personal values.Â
