Keynotes

Like most people, I used to grapple with a very real fear in life. This fear would grip my throat, send my heart into a fit and leave me soaked with sweat. It was the fear of public speaking. As time wore on and I transitioned from the classroom to coaching, I was confronted more and more with my limitations around public speaking. I knew that this was not only a crucial skill for my future, but it was also the skill which could unlock the next opportunities for me as an edtech leader. Every leader needs to speak, and I needed to make a commitment to change my perceptions around public speaking. Slowly, workshop by workshop, presentation by presentation I began to reinvision myself as a public speaker.

This culminated in my delivering my first every keynote in January of 2019; The Kids Are Waiting. And it also helped me unlock a passion; the thrill of public speaking was incredible! I was given another opportunity in April and delivered another keynote at #TBSedcon19 in Rio. And that opened up yet another speaking opportunity in August of that same year; keynoting the Amplifica conference, also in Rio. That was my opportunity to develop my second keynote, Frameworks for Innovation.

It's funny how life can come full circle on you. How the thing you feared most might actually become your vocation.
