Current Research Themes:
❑ Co-Creation in New Product Development and User Innovation
Co-creation in new product development refers to the process in which a company delegates part of the product development process to consumers, thereby engaging in collaborative new product creation between the firm and consumers. My research examines the mechanisms of co-creation in new product development and investigates how promoting such initiatives as part of marketing communication influences corporate outcomes and consumer behavior.
❑ Corporate Transparency and Its Application to Marketing Communication
Corporate transparency refers to the state in which information about a company’s activities is made accessible to stakeholders. Among the various forms of corporate transparency, my research focuses on the transparency of information related to new product development activities (e.g., production processes, producer information, product sustainability information) and examines how communicating such information as part of marketing efforts affects consumer responses.
❑ Other Topics
Building on the above research, I have recently been studying the marketing strategies employed by emerging wineries to achieve growth, with particular attention to the use of environmental labels in communication strategies and their effects. Since FY2025, I have also begun investigating the educational effectiveness of university–industry collaboration. Specifically, I have launched both quantitative and qualitative studies to measure the impact of marketing education for students participating in university–industry collaborations in the wine industry, involving multiple universities. These studies will be conducted annually to analyze and verify their effectiveness.
