The story of how Shiromi Matou can end up in the current Honmaru, the Second Honmaru.
Main Companion : Hachisuka Kotetsu
Other Characters : Yagen Toushirou, Gokotai, Midare Toushirou
For you who are too lazy to read (actually sometimes I do too), here's the TL;DR version of this lore, including the explanation of 2flheimverse that I haven't add to the main story.
[1] The timeline of this story is 2205, the same timeline as Touken Ranbu's lore
[1] In this universe, being a Saniwa is a volunteer job, and Shiromi Matou applied for it
[2] Saniwa is using a switch to move back and forth from real world to the Honmaru (for the switch, just imagine car key remote)
[2] Honmaru timeline is 10 times faster than in real world (So, 1 hour IRL is 10 hours in the Honmaru)
[2] Saniwa will automatically sent back to the real world if they spent more than 24 hours in the citadel
[2] Shiromi Matou choose Hachisuka Kotetsu as the starter and Bizen Province
[2] Hachisuka was first summoned in the real world setting, before Shiromi Matou transported into the Honmaru
[3] Obtained Yagen Toushirou in the smithing tutorial (canon in the my first Honmaru)
[4] Can't finish the tutorial because Shiromi Matou insist on repairing the swords manually, and do not use the Help Token.
[4] Konnosuke disappeared from the Honmaru
[4] Hachisuka can be summoned, but Yagen can't be summoned
[5] Everything in the Honmaru is freezed as if the time has been stopped
[5] In the Saniwa's room, there's a Connection Lost writing on the screen
[5] Shiromi can't return to the real world using the switch, so she and Hachisuka decided to wait for 24 hours to see if Shiromi teleported back to the real world
[5] Shiromi never teleported back after 24 hours, but then found a button that grant them Administrator Access
[5] They can access the information about Alpha Timeline Project :
So basically, Alpha Timeline is a curated timelines that have the "canon event" history ("Into the Spider-verse" reference)
The Alpha Timeline is stronger with the "canon history" and have longer timeline
Saniwas are forcing the other timelines to have the "canon history" in the other multiverse to strengthen the Alpha Timeline
The timeline that doesn't have the "canon history" ended faster than the Alpha Timeline
[5] Knowing the truth, Shiromi Matou decided that she will still do her duties as a Saniwa
[5] Shiromi goes back to her own timeline using the time machine usually used for the battles to the 14th January 2205
[5] Shiromi bringing Hachisuka and Yagen along with her
[6] Instead of teleported back to 14th January, she was teleported back to the 1st January 2205
[6] She applied to volunteer as a Saniwa again
[6] Her previous original ID switch 11✕✕69 is missing (this is the real Honmaru ID for my first Honmaru)
[6] Shiromi hid her previous honmaru's switch under her bed
[6] The Government of the Time is reapplied her for a new ID number
[6] Shiromi came the next day, 15th January and got a new ID, 14✕✕25 (real Honmaru ID for my current Honmaru)
[6] Shiromi got awakened as Saniwa for the second time, and it makes her eyes has a blue-ish glint to it
[6] Instead of summoning the system's sword as her starter, she summoned her own Hachisuka from her previous Honmaru instead
[6] The system glitched a bit, but she safely assigned to Bizen Province Honmaru once more
[7] Safely finished the tutorial this time, with Gokotai from the smithing tutorial
[7] Found out that the first battle give them a sword drop too, so Midare joined the Honmaru
[7] After the tutorial finished and Konnosuke left, Shiromi send them to the next battle
[7] Shiromi got teleported along with them to the battle
[8] Hachisuka gave Shiromi his sword scabbard for protection
[8] Kebiishi attacked them, Hachisuka broke because he protected Shiromi Matou
[8] Shiromi Matou's left cheek got injured because of the sword shard, and some part of her hair got cut too
[8] Hachisuka succeeded to send Shiromi back to the real world using the switch
[8] The only remains of Hachisuka is his scabbard
[9] Shiromi go back to the Honmaru again then repair Midare & Gokotai that has been injured
[9] Shiromi succeeded summoning Yagen from the first Honmaru in the current Honmaru
[9] She tried to smith Hachisuka, but failed to get him again until on 16th Jan
[9] She melted Hachisuka's scabbard and use the material for smithing, she burned her right hand in the process
[9] Finally obtained Hachisuka again on the 17th
[10] Epilogue about Hachisuka help Shiromi Matou to cut her hair
[10] The scars Shiromi Matou had from the battle and the burn can't be healed
Only Shiromi Matou can be teleported through the Battle Time Machine, the usual Saniwa can't. This is because she has already teleported through the machine once.
As the effect of awakened twice, if Shiromi Matou summoned a duplicate sword, they will retain the previous duplicate's memories. But after the first summon, they did not share the memories with each other.
One person can only apply as a Saniwa once. The Government of Time won't accept the same person from different timeline as a Saniwa again if one already became a saniwa in one timeline. So, if there's other Shiromi Matou from other timelines, they can't become a Saniwa.
The timeline branching system in this universe referenced from "Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)", so when someone make a different decision, the timeline will branched. But Saniwas are an exception, a Saniwa is tied to one timeline, so Shiromi Matou's timeline can't be branched again after she became a Saniwa. But the previous branches (before Shiromi became a Saniwa) might still exist.
In this universe, Saniwa is a volunteer job, so the Saniwas are able to convert the Honmaru's Koban to real money for the compensation of their work. But Shiromi Matou never converted them and let her Toudans utilize the money instead.
Previously, Shiromi Matou's starter Hachisuka can be summoned in real life, but after he broke, the duplicate can't be summoned in real life anymore.
This story is actually based on my actual experience when playing Touken Ranbu. Before I played Touken Ranbu, I already played Kantai Collection, so more or less, I'm already familiar with DMM Game system, and I've been eyeing Touken Ranbu since the game first announced. I'll let you know the actual timeline for this "lore".
14th Jan 2015
I started playing Touken Ranbu in Bizen no Kuni server with Hachisuka Kotetsu starter.
The game is still lagging a lot and often disconnected, when I'm doing the repairing tutorial, the game disconnected before I can use the Help Token.
When I log in back to the game, the repair already finished, and I'm stuck in the tutorial.
So I decided to make a new DMM account and make a new Touken Ranbu account.
15th Jan 2015
I finally can make a new account this day (there was still a lot of queue in making an account)
I also chose Bizen no Kuni server and Hachisuka as a starter
I broke Hachisuka Kotetsu on map 2-3, approximately on 20.40 GMT+7 (Of course there's no Kebiishi at this time)
17th Jan 2015
Finally I got Hachisuka Kotetsu again around 17.55 GMT+7
Present time
I'm still playing in this Honmaru, and currently I'm already lv 300+, but yes, I don't have starter sword now.
My oldest sword is Gokotai (from smithing tutorial). This is the list of my swords from the oldest one.
For the first Honmaru, I still have access to it, and recently I logged in into that account. I don't know since when the Honmaru unstucked, but I can play it normally now. In this Honmaru, of course the real starter, Hachisuka is still alive (but because of the plot of this lore, he won't make a comeback in the future).
Here's the Saniwa Card I got from the first Honmaru. After 3,517 days, finally I got back in to the first Honmaru. I logged in to this Honmaru for the sake of writing this fic. When I first logged in to this honmaru again, the first thing I checked is the swords I have. Yagen Toushirou is the sword I got from the smithing tutorial, and from the first battle, I got Imanotsurugi.
