Digital Character Drawing

Prerequisites: KCDR 131 or KCDS 142

Course Description:

Students will learn digital drawing techniques and apply them to both human and animal character stylizations, using methods and techniques that are relevant to visual development for entertainment media.

Course Outcomes:

The student will:

  • Recognize how to critique and receive critique for projects, relative to the stated objectives, as a member of a review group

  • Understand design, and production processes that are congruent with current industry standards

  • Draw humans and animals from photo, life, and 3D models using entertainment-drawing methods such as gestures, line of action, and character proportions

  • Understand the specific figure drawing techniques that integrate into the beginning of the visual development work flow for entertainment art
