Applied Music and Sound

Prerequisites: Junior Standing

Course Description:

Students will design music and sound for integration into multimedia design and entertainment arts.

Course Outcomes:

The student will:

  • Recognize current music and sound design genres, understand the related copyright issues, and discuss possible distribution channels

  • Communicate a music and sound design project concept in concise verbal, visual, and written formats

  • Apply audio theory and production techniques for creating, editing, and finalizing audio for integration into multimedia design and entertainment art congruent with current industry standards

  • Critique and receive critique for projects, relative to the stated objectives, as a member of a review group, and then advance them accordingly
