I have decided to interview my older cousin, Grace. Technically, we aren’t biologically related, our dads are just childhood best friends who decided they would make each other our uncles. Grace is three years older than me, and honestly, it feels like she’s the cool older sister I never had. We grew up similarly, with our parents prioritizing hard work and grit, working on projects together like building a cabin where Grace hung from the rafters with an impact gun. Even if she didn’t know, I was excited to grow up because I wanted to be just like her. Grace brought me out of my comfort zone, whether I wanted to or not. She taught me that I don’t always need to be a goodie two shoes. She got me through some dark times in my life through long car rides to a random Walmart just to get us out of the house or watching cringe movies on my living room floor, laughing obnoxiously through our secondhand embarrassment. She’s always been there for me, so today I’m going to interview her on the importance of hard work, the fear of leaving high school, and silly childhood memories.
