Who can Apply?
An OSSTF D17 Contract teacher or Continuing Education teacher with at least 330 hours within the past year and in good standing.
Applications will close no later than June 1, 2026 or once all money has been depleted, which ever comes first.
Must have an approved application before the course concludes.
Must NOT be a course that is being subsidized by SCDSB or Ministry of Education or be a SCDSB in-service course.
Must be taking it as a self-directed opportunity.
Must not be applying for PQP courses.
Must be applied for before the end of your course.
Maximum of $750.00 per course.
Applications will be considered in the order they are received.
Applications will be open until all money is allotted.
ONLY one reimbursement per school year.
You must apply for courses that end between June 2 and August 31 before the application closes on June 1.
Must have approval before submitting an expense claim.
Expense claims must be submitted within 45 days after the completion of the course.
Expense claims for June 1 to August 31 must be submitted by September 30 of the following school year as they are part of the funding for the previous school year.
Must apply with a NON-SCDSB email.
SCDSB email addresses will be declined and not replied to.
You will receive an email from the Educational Services Committee email informing you if your application has been APPROVED or DENIED on the day of, or day before, our committee meeting. Please check your spam or junk folders for an email from d17edservices@gmail.com.
Expense claims must be submitted within 45 days of the ending of a course.
This means that if you do not file a claim and submit all required paperwork within 45 days of the end of your course, your file will be closed and you will not receive any funding.
You must include the following for your expense claim to be processed:
Full mailing address including city and postal code.
Copy of receipt for registration fee of the course.
Proof of course completion (Grade from institution, Letter from Professor/Instructor stating completion, Copy of OCT Profile showing the course)
