Komap is a website that my team and I created as a learning project. We were inspired by the popular hike planner, Komot, and wanted to create a similar platform that allowed hikers to track their previous hikes and see their friends' hikes as well.
As a team, we wanted to gain hands-on experience with databases, specifically MySQL, and web design with PHP. We created Komap to learn and practice these skills in a real-world project.
Komap has a clean and modern interface that is easy to navigate, even for users who may not be familiar with hiking or technology. Users can create an account, log in, and start tracking their hikes. They can enter details such as the trail name, difficulty level, duration, and other relevant information.
One of Komap's unique features is the ability to check out their friends' hikes. Users can search for their friends by username and view their previous hikes, providing an easy way to keep up with their hiking adventures and share experiences.
Overall, our team had a great experience creating Komap. It not only helped us gain valuable skills in databases and web design but also allowed us to create a practical tool that hikers can use to track their adventures and connect with friends.
