This the most known truck and was purchased in 2015. It is a 2016 Freightliner M2 Cab. It is the current most used truck by the fire department and goes on just about every call we get.

As the growth of the department continued, so did the need for better fire protection and equipment. The department responded by replacing the 1956 GMC engine with a 1997 E-One Tanker/Pumper/Foam truck combination, which is the current Engine 2, more commonly known as “Big Blue”. This new apparatus became the third piece of equipment for the department at a cost of $350,000. The truck has two tanks, one 500 gallon for foam and the other, an 1800 gallon water supply. The pump is rated at 3,000 gallons per minute. Also, the truck is equipped with a 3,000 gallon per minute deck gun which is capable of dispensing foam onto a fire.

As the number of salvage calls continued to increase over the years, carrying the extra materials poised a hazardous condition with the older salvage unit. Specifications were drawn up for a new and bigger salvage unit that would handle the calls into the future. The plans were put into place, funding was obtained and a 2003 Hackney Salvage Unit was purchased. This Light and Salvage unit's main chassis is a Spartan chassis and has a seven-man cab, numerous storage compartments, a telescopic light tower and one of the area's largest truck mounted vacuum pumps for extracting water from one’s home. It is still in service to this day.

This squad truck has rarely ever been used in more recent years. This is used as just a squad truck and has been used to clean up any small brush and other things. For example, it was used during a tornado that came through Penn Township. We took it up onto Dutch Hollow to clean up sticks. It most likely is the last truck to leave the station due to there not being many tools on it.
