Mexican food are NOT all spicy and every Mexican eats chili. Not everyone tolerates spicy foods, that is why most meals come with salsas and chiles served on the side. 

Mexicans DO NOT always carry their own guns. Mexico has extremely restrictive laws regarding gun possession, so no, not everyone has a gun. This a misconception due to some entertaining media and probably because of cartel insecurity.

Mexicans ARE NOY lazy. There are people who still have the image of the old cartoons (US cartoons) in which they placed Mexicans next to a cactus, sitting on the ground, wearing a hat and watching life go by. Actually,

Mexico is NOT located in South America. Some people think that because Mexicans speak Spanish, the country is part of either South America or Central America, but it's actually part of North America.

Mexico is NOT dangerous. As any other country, there are cities with higher crime rate than others, but that does not mean everywhere you go is dangerous. Most of the country’s violent crime occurs in the few states where cartels are most active, still, one can live peacefully and happily as in any other place in the world.

Mexican food is NOT just tacos and burritos. It is true that Tortilla is one of the main complements in Mexico's cuisine, but there is way more food beyond the famous Mexican tacos and burritos. Mexican food is very diverse, and it changes through all the country by region.

Mexican is NOT a race/ethnicity. Mexicans are originally a mix of European (Spain) and Indigenous people (natives), and nowadays they have a diverse ethnical heritage, such as black, white, caucasian, asian, and more. That is why we cannot be represented by one skin color or certain specific characteristics. Nowadays there are also plenty of U.S. elements mixed into the culture. Some movies and games tend to do so, and that's blatant racism.

 NOT all Mexican wear sombrero hats. Those colorful, big hats are part mostly of the traditional dress for mariachi musicians, but most Mexicans don’t even own one, and they are not worn as an everyday attire.
