Culturally Responsive Teaching: A pedagogy that uses students’ customs, characteristics, experiences, and perspectives as tools for better classroom instruction. Students of color see themselves and their communities as belonging in academic spaces.
Cultural Responsibility: Cultural responsibility pertains to the ethical obligation to understand, respect, and preserve the cultural heritage of communities while avoiding harm or exploitation.

Equip educators with strategies and techniques for creating inclusive and culturally responsive learning environments.
Empower educators to integrate diverse perspectives and cultural content into their curriculum.
Objectives
By completing the Perspective and Resources section and reviewing the accompanying activities, the learner will be able to:
Define cultural responsibility and culturally responsive teaching and articulate the importance of promoting equitable and inclusive classrooms.
Explore cultural frameworks, such as the Cultural Iceberg Model, to deepen participants' understanding of cultural layers and their implications.
Recognize and articulate the benefits of building trust with grace and how it positively influences relationships, culture, and productivity.
Apply the Ready for Rigor Framework to adapt instructional practices better to meet students' diverse needs and learning styles.
Develop a mindset of lifelong learning by understanding that cultural responsibility is an ongoing process of continual learning and personal growth by seeking opportunities to expand cultural knowledge, staying curious, and remaining open to new perspectives and ideas.
