What happens if my child has to switch to virtual learning at any point during the year?
We have been working to get laptops out to every student and having them practice logging into their computers, Google, and Schoology. If we do have to switch to a learning from home model for any reason, students will access their class materials and meetings through Schoology, the county’s learning management system. Schoology will have our class Zoom link, our daily assignments, and links to any other resources that students may need access to through the day. Parents also have access to their child’s Schoology Courses; using the same information you use for your SIS ParentVue accounts.
What is AAP curriculum?
The AAP curriculum is a tool in the teachers’ toolbox that includes engaging curriculum with real-world challenges. The third grade team at Cub Run is familiar with and comfortable with the AAP curriculum as they have been using it with all students as part of the Access to Rigor goals in the FCPS strategic plan and the Cub Run school improvement plan. They are continuing their professional development during the 2021-22 school year.
Why is Cub Run offering Level IV AAP curriculum services?
One of the equity recommendations that came out of the AAP External Program review during the 2019-20 school year was to expand access to AAP Level IV services to any school that does not yet have it so that students do not need to leave their neighborhood school to access services.
Please be sure to fill out the Google Form for your child's teacher with contact information, questions or concerns about this upcoming school year, and important information about your child.
