Does my child keep their FCPSOn Device at school?
Students in grades K-2 will keep their devices at school, where they will be stored and charged each night. Students in grades 3-6 should be bringing their laptops back and forth between school and home each day and should be charging their laptops at home so it is ready to go the next day at school. Please keep in mind, these laptops are school devices. Students should not be downloading games or apps onto these computers that have not specifically been assigned by their teachers.
My child is locked out of their computer, or my child's password is not working. What should I do?
Please email your child's teacher. Students are locked out of devices after entering an incorrect password three times in a row. Teachers have the power to unlock the student's account. Teachers are also able to reset passwords if for some reason a student's password is not working on their accounts.
The program we were in yesterday is not working today. What do we do?
Please RESTART the laptop. It is important that you restart the laptop and not shut it down. A restart allows a laptop to run necessary updates that will often fix any problems that students are encountering. This is always the first thing we suggest when a student is struggling with their device.

If students have their devices at home for any reason, please encourage your child to restart the laptop at least once a week. This prompts updates that need to be installed to the school devices.
Please be sure students are actually restarting the laptop, and not simply shutting it down each time.
If you need to help your child get into their FCPS device for any reason, please follow the steps from the PDF to the right.
Student usernames are their FCPS Student ID Numbers. Students should have a card with their password on it. If they forgot their password, please email your child's teacher.
