What happens if my child has to switch to virtual learning at any point during the year?

We have been working to get laptops out to every student and having them practice logging into their computers, Google, and Schoology. If we do have to switch to a learning from home model for any reason, students will access their class materials and meetings through Schoology, the county’s learning management system. Schoology will have our class Zoom link, our daily assignments, and links to any other resources that students may need access to through the day. Parents also have access to their child’s Schoology Courses; using the same information you use for your SIS ParentVue accounts.

How do we change the way my child gets home?

If there is any change in transportation it is best to call the office at 703-633-7575 or email at CubrunElem.attendance@fcps.edu. We need to have written permission to change, we can not take the word of your student. If your child will be going home with a friend we need to have a note from both families.

Do you celebrate birthdays?

We are always happy to recognize and celebrate birthdays in our classroom. We are a treat free school and are not able to pass out any treats or favors. If you would like to invite children to a special event please use the PTA directory to email or send invitations home.

How can I support my child at home?

Helping your child to be prepared when they are at school by ensuring they have proper rest, food/water, extra masks and other materials they need for class. You can work to build their independence at home with school related tasks. Reading to your child each night will also help to build foundational literacy skills!
