What happens if my child has to switch to virtual learning at any point during the year?
We have been working to get laptops out to every student and having them practice logging into their computers, Google, and Schoology. If we do have to switch to a learning from home model for any reason, students will access their class materials and meetings through Schoology, the county’s learning management system. Schoology will have our class Zoom link, our daily assignments, and links to any other resources that students may need access to through the day. Parents also have access to their child’s Schoology Courses; using the same information you use for your SIS ParentVue accounts.
I am not receiving the grade level weekly news email on Fridays, what should I do?
Please fill out this google form with contact information as well as information about your child, if you haven’t already done so. If you have filled out the form and still are not receiving the weekly news emails, please email your child’s homeroom teacher.
How does my child sign up for band or strings and/or chorus?
Students can choose band OR strings in 5th grade. Students that are not in band or strings will have the general music class.
If your child is interested in signing up for chorus, Use this link.
Will my child have homework?
Yes, and homework will depend on what skills/topics need to be reinforced. Students will not have homework for skills/topics that are not introduced in class. Please check your child’s agenda for homework assignments and reminders.
What is the best way to contact my child’s teacher?
The best way to contact the teacher is through email. Please contact the teacher that is teaching the subject area in which you are asking the question about. For example, if it is a science question please contact Ms. Ingrassia. If it is a general concern/question, please email the homeroom teacher. You can also call the school and leave a message.
Any messages or emails may not be responded to until the end of the school day.
How can I set up my schoology account and/or see my child’s assignments?
Use this link to learn about Schoology for digital work and for instructions on how to set up parent accounts.
Please be sure to fill out the Google Form for your child's teacher with contact information, questions or concerns about this upcoming school year, and important information about your child.
