Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly integrating into the education, government, military, and business sectors. Defining your role in the evolving landscape is crucial. This plenary will provide a framework to help you navigate this environment and define your unique roles to steer AI's impact on society and your professional field. We will begin with a snapshot of AI's current integration into our daily lives. With this understanding, we will explore the ethical considerations, governance challenges, and development opportunities surrounding AI. Finally, turning information into action, you will draft personal goals to leverage AI's potential and steer its influence starting immediately.
Presenter Bio
Dan Baker is a Teaching Associate Professor in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department and teaches in the department full time. He is one of the primary instructors for both the on-campus and online sections of Engineering Mechanics: Statics and Engineering Mechanics: Dynamics. He is a passionate learner and works to optimize student learning through interactive learning activities, targeted assessments, and elevating student motivation.
