A division is a part of an army or large organization. Divisions are led by Captains and Lieutenants (with the exception of OIA). Our department currently offers 3 divisions to join (SWAT, SS & OIA).

The Office of Internal Affairs (OIA) is a unit within the California Highway Patrol (CHP) responsible for handling IA tickets, handling reports against Officers, and punishing them for their action. The OIA is essential for CHP.

The Special Weapons and Tactics team (SWAT) is a specialized unit within the California Highway Patrol (CHP) responsible for responding to highly dangerous calls (hostage situations, shootouts, etc.)
Special Services
Special Services
The Special Services (SS) is a specialized unit within the California Highway Patrol (CHP) responsible for investigating. They operate undercover vehicles to investigate crime scenes, mafias, etc.
To apply to any division and/or program, you are required to be a CHP Officer. You can't be part of a divison/program if you aren't at or above the rank of Officer (after passing the Academy).
