A neighbor of Cheryl's shared:
"I cried when I got my first paycheck after being unemployed for over six months. My monthly salary is what I use to earn in a week. But it feels so good to have a purpose again."

What do you do when you are the major breadwinner providing the critical insurance for both you and your husband and you are laid off? Can't find a job as you are a Baby Boomer. You are living in expensive Seattle real estate after being aggressively recruited by a major tech company, asked to relocate to Seattle in 2015 even though the job could have been done in Phoenix? Hired by the CEO of the first acquisition who wanted a Director of Sales Enablement and Training but laid off by an executive from the second acquisition who didn't understand Sales Enablement?
I know, it has happened to me. I was diagnosed with MS Multiple Sclerosis in 2006, forced out of the high school classroom, moved to university when husband was hit by drunk driver, high on cocaine, 5 minutes from our home and forced to full-time disability. Returned to industry and aggressively recruited away from IHS Group in 2015.
You start your own business and start writing the books that have been in your head for years. You connect with your strengths, things you should have done years ago if you had just known you were an entrepreneur!
After working for an Engineering Consulting firm in Redmond, WA where no one kept the Catalog Library up to date with critical specifications about products used in our solutions, Cheryl interviewed with Information Handling Services in 1991 and recognized the use case. A database of catalogs, standards, and parts that are automatically kept up to date and quickly available with a search at the computer.
Selling was a natural for Cheryl because she believed in the product. She had lived the pain point of the engineers complaining her team was not keeping the vendor catalog library current.
Now she sells psychometric tools that help people uncover their passions, their gifts, and talents for employment and tools to help companies create positive cultures. She was introduced to these at two major brands she worked for and wished she had them when she graduated from college as she defaulted to business.
