and promote innovation in the organization
They say curiosity killed the cat. Well, curiosity has opened the world of possibilities to me and my team. With all the tools we need at our fingertips, it is about setting priorities for the most important project. We have the tools to help companies hire, develop, and discover the innovators, the leaders, and the operations gurus in your organization.
Don't lose your curious ones because you didn't recognize their inquisitiveness.
and ensure others know how to do it as well
Make sure the right kinds of resources are available and people know they are there and how to use them.
When I tried to subscribe to Lynda.com for my team at Oracle, the L&D team told me it was coming and included my team in a Pilot. Knowing the team members interests, they were aligned with projects to research and build that kept their interest.
both inside and outside the organization
Professional networks are critical. Know where your audience is and what networks they frequent. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Medium, Pinterest, Messenger, What'sApp, Slack. Where are they and why are they there?
Build your personal brand on the right channels. Share your expertise. Serve your network. The "Network Effects" will pay you dividends in the end.
exploring and opening doors for others
Curious about a profession, find someone that is a Thought Leader, read their books, their blogs, their articles. Check out what conferences they are presenting at or attending. FInd common connections. Volunteer to intern or shadow them to explore the career before investing too much. People love to share what they know and what they are good at.
What associations do they belong to? Where can you learn from like minded people? Where can you serve? Get involved in community projects and help out. It will bless you and your business.
and inspire it in others
Hard things will always happen but remember the first principle - Believe in yourself. Know where you came from and what your family went through to get you the education and provide you the foundational upbringing that you experienced. If you experienced hard times, reach back a little further in your family history, someone did great things. They are inspiring you to do the same.
The Golden Rule always applies - Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. It may take some time to forgive, but you must. You haven't walked in their shoes and don't know what they are going through that caused them to treat you the way they did. Believe in the goodness of others.
