This series of workshops came about because of an unprecedented year and half of blended learning. At a time when the world fell silent and the streets emptied, we all went online and learned in different ways. We normally hold a physical exhibition of our students' work and run workshops, but this year like so many events, we have had to go online and rise to the challenge of working in unusual ways.
Our partner organisations and artist educators delivered bespoke online workshops to a range of young people from our schools across Tower Hamlets. Our aim was to give young people the opportunity to still explore art ideas and making during these unusual times but online as we were not able to use the Art Pavilion this year as it was seconded as a Covid-19 vaccination centre.
